the sixth sense of philips
it’s natural, not supernatural,
as natural as blinking or breathing or loving or resting.
and it doesn’t rule the other senses, it enhances them.
the sixth sense is the helper sense:
it makes things easier for us even when we’re just sitting back and watching.
it’s simplicity borne from the complex
context pulled from chaos, sense from nonsense,
and accessibility grabbed from that which is beyond our reach.
it is a light bulb of inspiration that creates a “harmony between the elements” of our lives.
it anticipates expectations.
it’s an essence that transcends the rational and yet is borne of it.
it’s not more, but rather different than the sum of its parts,
a cumulative magic whose first element is an extreme understanding
and whose further elements are an exhaustive list of the attributes of humanity:
innovation, celebration, intuition, kindness, need, values,
optimism, artistry, assistance, perception.
it is both voracious student and enthusiastic teacher, drawing its acumen at teaching from its omnivorous appetite for learning and drawing its appetite for learning from its overwhelming desire to teach.
and yet, it’s neither didactic nor overbearing;
in contrast, it’s friendly and kind.
it’s universal; and though it’s bigger than borders or languages,
it never loses even a bit of its local and individual significance.
it’s liberating, enriching, enhancing, balanced, ecological, simple, spare, sustainable, visceral.
it is anti-alienation and pro-humanization,
and, inviting serendipity, as it does, it is artistry in intuition, it is soul.
it’s a collaboration between age old wisdom and the latest technology.
a refinement of the artificial to the point where it becomes natural
an exercise whose sole purpose is adding value and poetry to the rhythms of human existence.
it’s the answer that precedes the question:
it’s ambient genius, begging us to take it for granted
but dazzling us when we don’t,
at once tangible and ethereal.
it’s the sixth sense; it’s our most important product.
philips
let’s make things better.
