"Rattlesnake" 2001
Acrylic on canvas 20 " x 16 "
A snake eating its own tail is a Sufi symbol of eternity. Here, I've
shown a rattleshake eating its own tail, devouring that which is warning
sign. Against a background of a golf course in the desert, this snake
becomes a metaphor for how humans deal with the environment, enforcing
our will wherever we want and paying scant attention to natural order
and the warning signs along the way.
